Biometric devices

Biometric attendance devices — eSSL and Hikvision, properly integrated

Face scan and fingerprint terminals supplied, installed and connected to the same cloud platform, dashboards, reports and parent notifications as our app-based attendance. One record, whatever marks it.

What we supply

Fixed terminals, when a fixed terminal is what you want

We are not a hardware-only vendor and not an app-only vendor. We deploy whichever capture method your institution is actually going to use — and we make sure it reports into one place.

eSSL face recognition terminals

Wall-mounted face attendance with a local display, widely serviced in India with dependable spares. Common choice for staff attendance and payroll-linked records.

eSSL fingerprint readers

Where policy or committee preference requires a contact biometric. Typically used for teaching and non-teaching staff rather than large student bodies.

Hikvision face terminals

Rugged, fast recognition, built for high-footfall entrances. A sensible pick for a main gate that has to clear a crowd in minutes.

Integration and support

Supply, installation, configuration and integration with the Attendances cloud — plus the same in-house support line as our software.

Integration, not just installation

A terminal on its own tells nobody anything

A standalone biometric device stores punches and prints a log. It does not message a parent, does not build a monthly percentage, does not flag today’s defaulters, and does not know the difference between Class VIII-A and Class VIII-B unless someone tells it.

Connected to our platform, the same device becomes part of a complete system:

  • Punches trigger real-time parent notifications through School eDiary
  • Class-wise, date-wise and device-wise reports exportable to PDF and Excel
  • Auto-absent rules and daily defaulter lists apply exactly as they do for phone scans
  • Mixed capture is invisible downstream — device punch, phone face scan and QR scan all read the same
A typical mixed deployment

Staff — fingerprint terminal at the office door

65 teaching and non-teaching staff, linked to leave and payroll records.

Students — phone-based face scan at two gates

1,700 students, no enrolment drive, two phones instead of two terminals.

Fallback — QR on every ID card

Covers a charging phone, a pending photo, or a student in a mask.

One register, one report

The office sees a single attendance ledger and a single set of exports.

Straight advice, since you asked. For students, app-based face and QR scanning almost always wins on cost, rollout speed and enrolment effort — you avoid buying a terminal per gate and you avoid enrolling a thousand children one at a time. For staff, a fixed terminal is often genuinely better: small numbers, one location, and a clean tie-in to payroll. Tell us your headcount and gate layout and we will recommend the mix rather than the most expensive option.
Questions

Biometric devices, answered

Which biometric devices do you supply?

We supply, install and integrate eSSL and Hikvision devices — face recognition terminals and fingerprint readers — chosen to suit the gate, the footfall and the budget. Both brands are widely serviced across India, which matters more than specification when a device fails in the middle of a term.

If your app-based face scan is better, why sell terminals at all?

Because sometimes a fixed terminal is the right answer: staff attendance tied to payroll, an entrance with no one to supervise a phone, a management committee that has already approved a wall-mounted device, or an institution that wants a physical asset rather than a subscription. We would rather integrate the device you want than argue you out of it.

Can we run devices and the app together?

Yes, and it is a common configuration: a fingerprint terminal for teaching and non-teaching staff, plus phone-based face or QR scanning for 1,500 students at the gate. Punches from both sources land in the same attendance ledger, the same reports and the same parent notifications.

Does device-based attendance also notify parents?

Yes — that is the point of integrating rather than just installing. A raw biometric terminal has no notification capability. Connected to our platform, its punches trigger the same School eDiary push notification a phone scan would.

What about enrolment on the terminals?

Device-side enrolment is unavoidable on a biometric terminal — each person must present their face or finger to that device once. This is exactly the step our app-based face mode removes, which is why large student populations are usually better served by the app and staff by the terminal.
